Painting in Progress by theirison Painting in Progress by theirison
This painting is ridiculous.
I've spent the last 3 days non stop painting, inclusing new years night.
Its 48"x62" large
I built this using birch wood.
The shapes are done with acrylic,
the face is water-soluble wax pastels and water-soluble oils.

Still have a bit more to do... the fun part.
This is where I distress the colors and add paint splotches and dirty it up a bit.

This will be the piece for the poster to my solo show.
When I finish this Ill post the Poster with the info to the show!!

How you plan those lines? I mean are those completely random or you create a visual idea somehow? :)

Do you free draw al of your design righ on the wood? Or do you start with a small drawing and measure it on the wood to enlarge it?

I would love to know how to make big pieces! :)

I start with a pencil drawing
I project the final line drawing on paper, mount it to wood

I love every single piece you make.

Is it a paper glued to the wood? Or a wood with a base on it?
I'm not ready to use canvas yet and paper alone is kind of... not serious enough. )) So I'm thinking about options in the middle.)
