It's nice work, but the garish jagged bits at the top, overlapping the face, do nothing for me, and i don't see the point of it becoming blocky towards the base eiher. These things seem like gimmicks, and detract from your excellent drawing.
This is a retro-future piece, if you will. The pixel shapes help to bring that together, Think Nintendo. Also, those "garish jagged bits" are used as a framing device, drawing the viewer into the focal point. The overall blueish tint to the brightly colored jagged bits gives a modern/futuristic feel, This also helps to establish depth in an otherwise flat composition.
Very nice indeed. The number of elements involved in this (the zip-a-tone effect, pixelation, texture etc) would make 99 out of 100 pics look a mess, but you navigated it very well and it all comes together effectively.
