Did you use a reference for the face? Or was it from your imagination? :)

Fantastic work! How do you manage to put so many colors and textures and yet, have a beautiful coherent piece of art?
You're awesome!

I remember one time you said there were no real artists or even good pieces of art in DA. You were terribly wrong, in case you weren't counting yourself.

haha, I not sure when I said that but if I did say it I was wrong. I find so many good artist all the time on here. Besides it's not so much about being awesome as it is a forum to show work, whether it be by professionals or not. I guess what I'm saying is I like seeing peoples work, even if it's not "that good". So Yeah, if I said that I was dead wrong, ha

I had gotten this magazine almost a couple months ago and I now I can thank you for the tips and tutorial! It is very helpful when you're struggling to get the hang of digital media.

I really love the textures you used in this one, there's so much to look at! Also love the overlapping shapes around her face, as Shawnee pointed out, draws you in.

Those elbows were just too sexy for the general viewing public, eh? Really ballsy treatment with the colour Erik- it could've gone horribly wrong, but it seems to hold together, well done.

It's nice work, but the garish jagged bits at the top, overlapping the face, do nothing for me, and i don't see the point of it becoming blocky towards the base eiher. These things seem like gimmicks, and detract from your excellent drawing.

This is a retro-future piece, if you will. The pixel shapes help to bring that together, Think Nintendo. Also, those "garish jagged bits" are used as a framing device, drawing the viewer into the focal point. The overall blueish tint to the brightly colored jagged bits gives a modern/futuristic feel, This also helps to establish depth in an otherwise flat composition.
