Here are some process shots, and environment shots. Its all done with water-soluble wax pastels, prismacolor pencils and acrylics, on Rives bfk paper. I looked forever for a frame for this, then stumbled across the perfect one at a Brooklyn 2nd hand store.
This will be shown at the Supersonic Electronic show, January 5th in Francisco. here is the show info, check it out: [link]

I really like your stuff. I really do. I just went on a faving rampage. BUT. As a Native American, I am offended by this piece for two reasons. 1. I don't think you understand the significance of a headdress, and it's always a harmful stereotype to merely think of a spiritual piece as 'pretty' and nothing else. 2. As a recently surging hipster trend, women wearing headdresses is really getting on my nerves, especially since women are not allowed to wear them under the norms of my culture. It is therefore part of a downward trend of acknowledging my culture as it ACTUALLY is, and merely thinking my culture to be trendy. I hope you at least understand, possibly making some sort of disclaimer so that other Natives don't feel similarly. I mean, really, I do like your art. But this one just makes me sad, and no one ever listens to me when I say anything.
