just or fun by theirison just or fun by theirison
Ive been casually sketching out faces for a bit now and decided to turn some into painting, they are the first paintings Ive done on canvas....... i hate it. canvas suck, it moves and its got a texture that wants to show up in the worst places, i think ill stick with illustration board. I like loosening up though, colored pencils can get a little boring at times

Looks great!

A question:
If this was intended for print, how would you go about reproducing it? Would you photograph it yourself, leave it to someone else to photograph or would you scan it in sections?

I'm sure you probably know this (but just 'n case...), but canvas works with you a lot better after about three or four layers of gesso. You can smooth it out pretty good, and then create texture where you want. Cross-weave your gesso layers for even more fun.

Btw, you're work really rocks. Makes me want to dig out my oils again and paint really big! Thanks for sharing.
